Super Easy Tzatziki Dip

Hey, Friends! 👋🏼  Happy 4th of July!🇺🇸 I hope that you’re all having a great holiday weekend and enjoying some celebratory time honoring the USA with the ones you love. This past weekend I spent some time with very dear friends at their annual 4th of July pool party, and boy was I glad to be by a pool! It was SO hot this year! Rain or shine, I always look forward to this party. It feels like the kick-off to summer, I get to spend time with some great people and indulge in some delicious food. The party is organized as a potluck so we all bring something yummy to add to the mix, and this year I brought one of my favorite snacks… a super easy tzatziki dip.

This is a great, healthy summer dip that I often snack on or serve with sliced raw veggies, pita, pretzels, even blue corn chips. It also makes a great spread for burgers, sandwiches, grilled pork…mmmm…. the pairing options are endless! It’s quick to throw together and is always a hit – it’s so popular among my friends and family that I actually now make it all year long (for them as well as myself 😉). However, it always seems to taste especially satisfying on a hot summer day, which is why I decided to bring it this past weekend, as well as why I’m hanging out in the kitchen today to show you how to make it!

Now, if you didn’t already know, I love to cook and I spend a fair amount of time playing in the kitchen (which could be why organizing a kitchen is always one of my favorite spaces to work on… who knows 🤔). Naturally, when I am in the kitchen I’m still thinking about my principles of organized living. I’m always on the lookout for easy ways to keep my diet healthy, create better eating routines, as well as discover new ways to save time and make cooking a little easier for all of us. This dip really hits all those markers for me because it’s healthy, easy and super quick to whip up.

Full disclosure… this is one of first recipe demos… EVER! 😳 While I did share two recipes last year during the 12 Days of Neatness (the JP. Ginger Firenog and the Holiday Hummus), the cocktail wasn’t a complicated demo and the hummus… well, I only talked through the recipe. So, this is kind of a big step. Super Easy Tzatziki Recipe


  • Juice of 1 whole lemon


  1. Peel and grate cucumber and place in strainer to drain juice
  2. Sprinkle grated cucumber in strainer with 1/2 teaspoon salt, gently mix and let stand at least 5 minutes to draw out additional juice
  3. Grate garlic on top of draining cucumber
  4. Zest lemon on top of draining cucumber and garlic
  5. Give cucumber mixture a few more shakes in the strainer to remove some more liquid. Then, plop it in the bowl
  6. Squeeze in juice of 1 whole lemon (or half a lemon if you like your tzatziki a little thicker)
  7. Add 2 cups of Greek yogurt
  8. Chop and add 2 tablespoons of fresh dill, salt and pepper to taste, and mix thoroughly
  9. Cover with plastic wrap or place in sealed container and refrigerate for about 3 to 4 hours (or overnight, if time permits). This time will allow all the flavors to blend and become even tastier
  10. Serve with sliced raw veggies, pita, pretzels or use as a spread on a burger or sandwich

P.S. – This is my base recipe, but I always play with the proportions when I make it depending on how my taste buds are feeling. There is no right or wrong equation since the flavors are all to taste… just have fun with it and enjoy! 😊
